Every kid likes toys, and babies are not the exception. Watching them play is a joy, but be careful. Avoid giving your baby toys that may have loose parts, or parts that are small enough to be swallowed. Also look for toys that can resist chewing without losing any paint portions. This way you will avoid intoxication risks; keep your baby away from toys that have strings or that are not unbreakable.

Baby gates are used to prevent toddlers to go into an area of your home that may not be totally safe, such as the kitchen. Buy those gates that are one piece and attach themselves to the door frame. Do not use accordion gates, for they have been responsible of a lot of accidents (they are not manufactured anymore, but there may be a lot of them still available on shops). Pay attention to those gates placed on top of the stairs, make sure that is no possible way for your baby to climb (that includes getting rid of any large toy that may be used to climb).
